What this site is

OnlineFlashcardMaker is a free flashcard tool that runs entirely in your web browser. You can write cards, import them from other apps and documents, study them with spaced repetition and other modes, print them as double-sided paper flashcards, and export them to Anki or other formats.

There's no account and no sign-up. Your decks are saved in your browser's storage on your own device.

Why we built it

Making flashcards should be quick, and printing them shouldn't involve lining up fronts and backs by trial and error. We also think people should be able to use a study tool without handing over an email address or uploading their notes.

So the site is built as a static web app. All the work — editing, importing PDFs and Anki decks, generating print layouts, scheduling reviews — happens on your device. That keeps it private, lets it work offline once loaded, and keeps our costs low enough that it can stay free. Our free-forever page explains the details.

What it can do

  • Make cards: table editor, rich text, images, and card types including basic, reverse, cloze, multiple choice, type-in, and image occlusion.
  • Import: paste, Quizlet export text, CSV/Excel, Anki .apkg and .colpkg, and Smart import from notes, PDF, Word, or photos.
  • Study: Flashcards, spaced repetition (FSRS), Learn, Test, Match, and Spell, with streaks and stats.
  • Print: 1–16 cards per page, A4/Letter/Legal and index card sizes, double-sided with mirrored backs.
  • Export and share: PDF, Anki .apkg, CSV, Quizlet-importable text, JSON backup, and share links.

What it doesn't do

There's no cloud sync, no collaboration, and no native mobile app. Decks stay on the device where you made them unless you export a backup or share a link. We'd rather be clear about that than promise something we don't offer.
